Closet Trekkie here....
You'll like it. It starts a new "timeline" so there are no real references to the TV show or prior movies. Seeing Leonard Nimoy again was a nice cameo, definitely showing his age. In terms of all the technical stuff they kept it pretty tame, that is what made it viewable by anybody.

The premise is simple, replace uranium with a fissionable material with a much greater atomic mass and you get a bigger boom. My point was that a very small amount of material can produce a "big boom", thus to assume that a large amount of "red matter" would be required is faulty reasoning. That wouldn't account for the creation of a black hole though I guess, but that wasn't the point of my post. |
