Gdamn Camaro aftermarket moves at lightning speeds!!!
Been following camaro5 for 2010 camaro updates and its crazy how fast the aftermarket for the car moves. I remember when it took months just for a few piggyback tuners to appear for the 335. There's already superchargers fitted on this car! Guess domestic car's aftermarket just has so many more tuners.
Check this crap out magna supercharger http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21499 600hp twin turbo http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21845 |

I am going to assume that it was easier to crack open the Camaro... and the fact that people have been tuning the Camaro for decades. I think I'd go the supercharger route.

Not to mention the fact that the engine has already been used in other vehicles. It's no surprise at all these aftermarket parts are out. Lucky Camaro owners.

Exactly. This kit is probably just an adaptation of something that's being sold for the Vette. The LS3 has the same deminsions as the LS1 and 2, so a lot or parts, like the manifold have been around for several generations of vehicles. All these guys had to do was fab up the intake piping and air box, and throw it on the market. GM's ECUs are very tuner friendly, and there's excellent software available to the end users that allows a lot of tweaking. They've got just about as much adjustability as a stand-alone unit. HPTuners and LS1 Edit (tuning software) have been for a long time now, and the support and knowledge base is great. Still, it is pretty impressive that these guys have been able to get the fabrication work done so quickly, and it looks damn good! It wouldn't surprise me to find out the GM has released some of the early cars to the aftermarket to allow them to get a jump. The manufacturers understand that a good aftermarket is a huge draw for serious enthusiasts. The Mustang's success over the years is proof of that. |

Interesting note on the supercharged system:
From the thread: "This will be a COMPLETE C.A.R.B certified kit with EVERY nut, bolt, washer, belt, etc, etc. Suggested retail is $7400.00." It ain't cheap, but CARB certification for a supercharged 6.2L V8 is impressive work for that tuner. |
