blu-ray--ideas??

anybody have any thoughts insight, what makes it better than a normal dvd etc.
was thinking about getting a ps3 for gaming and playing the discs, would that be adequate or should i invest in a real player?

a real player will play the disks better than a playstation but will cost you more and you wont be able to play games on it. if your a gamer go for the ps3 if not hold out for a real blu ray player. the panasonic blue ray looks better to me than the samsung.
