Canadian fans booing the National Anthem??!
What the hell is up with the French Canadian fans booing the National Anthem at the Montreal game? This really bothers the shit out of me. Just disgraceful. Hey idiots, you're not actually booing the Bruins but all of our country! I really hope your sorry ass team gets swept.

It's not unique to Montreal. San Jose booed the Canadian anthem a few years ago:
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/15/sp...key/15nhl.html I also seem to remeber Philly booing the Canadian anthem during the World Series against they Jays, but I could be wrong. Regardless it is a classless move. |

Is it disrespectful? Hells yeh. It's embarrassing for us to put it up with it. But the Canadian anthem has been booed in previous games held in the US so this is not an isolated event nor will it be the last time. |

I watched the game on TV Monday and I couldn't believe my ears when I heard the U.S. anthem being booed. I don't care if the canadian anthem is booed in the U.S. it still is a stupid thing to do.
How retarded do you have to be if you boo the national anthem of a country because the team based in that country is beating the hell out of your team? Anyway, national anthems should not be played anyway. The anthem should be played only when national teams are competing. Montreal-Boston, Toronto-New York, it means nothing to play the anthem. I hope you don't think all canadians are morons like these people who booed the U.S. anthem. I wonder what Marc Savard and Patrice Bergeron were feeling when they heard the boos of their countrymen. They possibly had to answer a few questions from their teammates in the showers. |
