BMW multifunctional car key
The BMW multifunctional car key is a new project from the people at BMW. At the moment it is only a prototype, but there is a high chance of production in the near future.

The owner of a BMW multifunctional car key will soon be able to go shopping with his key only. It has a credit card function which will allow money transactions without having to carry your card or cash. The project manager says that the BMW multifunctional car key will probably be used in the future as a bus ticket or any other transport system. Besides this financial aspect, it will also have other advantages. The BMW multifunctional car key will record the radio settings, seat and mirror modifications of each person who uses it. This way, if a BMW is used by more persons, they can each have their own BMW multifunctional car key and the car will recognize their preferences.

Uhm.... Power Seats with driver memory is what we call that already today ;-)

Not to forget the Address book and Navigation destination and the lovely 6 soft touch buttons and the steering wheel and and and....

Also using it as an RFID Point of Sale unit is already doable since it is an RFID tag and you just associate a debit/credit card to the RFID tag ID.

This is not groundbreaking stuff.

No matter how many times I see it, I still think anyonE who's willing to walk around with their credit card info on an RFID tag is just begging to get ripped off.
