Do 12v car fridges/coolers actually work?
The picnic season is here again & I need to transport food & drink...Is there any point in paying extra for a cooler box with an electric fan? I mean, given that there's no compressor, what purpose does the fan actually serve other than just mix the already cold air inside the box?

The work great
These coolers work on a different principle than your refrigerator. Mine has worked great for years. I even use it in the house. Secret is to precool it the night before and put stuff in it that's already cold. Mine keeps it at about 40-42 degrees F. www.******.com

I too had good success with the one I purchased. Only one time did I leave it running in my other car for several hours and it drained my battery; I had to jump start it, but otherwise, I've had no problems.
