This is especially true when I'm riding with a girl. Guys usually try to peak in when waiting on a intersection to see if she's fine. And of course she is!
haha, where did you get the big smiley?

I actually had someone reved his engine at me once, but that's just to keep his 1982 ford engine from dying because of a bad carb..

ignore these people, revving up and all cmon grow up already; yeah he got a better car so? do these people need everyone to envy his car? by doing that, the person just invites more potential vandalism to his car..and on a sidenote my baby just got a 2inch scratch on the top side of right fender, i think she got keyed by some drunk f*cker

Just before I put my car in the shop, a CL-55 tried to race. I rolled the window down and told him his car is supercharged, so why would I even waste the gas trying. Then I left.

Quite the contrary actually. The term getting under someones skin has the connotation of being aggravating. It's not aggravating at all. It's a good feeling. It's not a "Oh man, i'm so frustrated that this guy won't race me" it's more like a "Haha, this chump won't even race me" kind of feeling.

I think we're missing the point here. I think the point is that at that moment in time (the situation that began this thread) the driver of an Acura TL revved at a E90 driver trying to provoke him into a race so that he could demonstrate that his car was in some way superior to the E90 driver's car. Yes, we all agree that revving at other cars to try to race them is a completely childish/foolish/riced out thing to do. I doubt that any of us (including the TL drivers on this board) have done that in our cars, because we dont drive vettes, ferraris, lambos, vipers. We drive 3 series BMWs and TLs. My point is, that the original poster of this thread was telling a cool story, but I found it aggravating for him to lump all Acura TL's into that category. Because not all acura TL's are like that. And in a way, I found it to be a derogatory comment on Acura TLs as if 3 series were in a completely different category. The topic later escalated as someone made the comment that they dont even bother giving a looking over at TL's or what not. So in jest, I jokingly made funny comments on what goes through the mind of TL drivers when they rev at people at lights. Thinking that out of respect for the community i'm about to join, that you wouldn't actually think I was that flipping ridiculous.

Back on topic, I think it is very true that alot of 1st and 2nd gen TLs are now handmedowns passed to young drivers. Young drivers that tend to want to race. This is the result with with most $30-35k cars. They get old and young people get them and want to race. I just find it aggravating that a lot of the people on this board (but not a majority, at all) have forgotten that not everyone is as almighty and mature as they are and not everyone is drives BMW. And I think in a day and age of people putting 20 inch spinners on SUVs, it'd be a bit more worldly of us as car fans to laughingly give him a thumbs up, letting him go, than to go back to our bmw home starting a thread on how those inferior TL's from japan are annoying as if we'd reached the holy grail of automobiles.

Uhh, does driving a 330 cracking on TLs and their drivers make you feel better about yourself?

i DO rev at freaking kids walking across the street too slowly. Not little innocent kids. But little poser thugs that think they're to hard to get the hell across the street. We'll see how hard you are when this 3700 pound battering ram hits you in the chest

Whatever.

To me it is simply a sign of emotional insecurity. And the revvers seem to know how to seek out their own kind. Some do the revving, some try hard to look smug in their dime a dozen 3 series

Me, I just sit at the lights, revving my logic 7 up and down coz i rule yo

I was driving my 325i yesterday, and a black M5 wanted to play. So I hit the gas, he hit his, and then a couple hundred yards away, guess what, there's a black M5 in my rear view mirror. Oh yeah... Thats right...

So I tried to race that one too.

J/K, but in all honesty, I was driving yesterday, and an M5 was trying to play!! I didn't entertain him, that would be a waste of gas.... but my point here is, sometimes there is also "reverse instigating" that occurs!!

I tried to race a 911 Turbo in my acura TL 2 years ago. Worst beating I have ever had. I mean when I thought I hit the pedal, the guy was like 100 yards ahead of me. it was insane.
