SLR "722 Edition"
Wow.
"Mercedes has unveiled a new special edition SLR called the "722 Edition." The car has increased output of 650 horsepower, a tailor-made suspension configuration, and a decidedly sporty interior. 722 Edition" is a homage by Mercedes-Benz to the unforgettable victory won by the British racing legend Stirling Moss and his co-driver Denis Jenkinson in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR with the starting number 722 (indicating a start time of 7.22 a.m.) at the Mille Miglia in 1955. The car accelerates from standstill to 62 mph in only 3.6 seconds, and 124 mph is reached in just 10.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 209 mph" - Leftlane News http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/07/...tion-unveiled/

I'm not a big Mercedes fan, but that design has a classic retro-look about it.
It looks like a classic that's been squished down and stretched out to look more aggressive and futuristic. |

This car is the exact opposite of the mullet, party up front, business in the back..
aka the front is too incredible looking for the back of that car. They don't seem to be connected.. I would take the engine though and drop it in the e90.. Ultimate Sleeper Machine..

Merc are definately the factory hot rods of our generation, and for that I respect them a lot. M3, M5 and M6 are neat, but it seems like every single Merc model's got an AMG version, and they keep dropping in bigger and bigger motors every couple of years ... but do you notice that they're always talking about homages to racing victories past? What don't they get on with winning some modern races instead of trying to dredge up centuries old glory?

I like it but I hate that fact that its only an auto with no stick available. Not even an SMG just a 5 speed auto.
