Question For Moderators (and other members as well)
I have no intention of becoming a nuisance, or of causing trouble for the forum, but in all seriousness, why aren't we allowed to have a discussion about having a discussion about the "No 'Kill Stories'" thread?
I do understand the philosophy behind the forum's "No Kill Stories" policy, generally, but I'd like to better understand the reason why even debating the subject matter is deemed inappropriate. Mods? At it's worst, wouldn't such a debate serve as a topically appropriate, informative learning experience for those of us who consider ourselves to be intelligent drivers? What is the downside to such civil discourse? And to forum members: I noticed that the thread started by gizmo was almost immediately closed down due to it's content. Does this tend to happen a lot here? Just trying to prepare myself... Thanks

What's the rule? No discussing controversial thread titles? I'm not being fasecious, I'm genuinely asking.

pretty much...i kinda see it as these guys have spent their time to create this forum for everyone else, and there are certain things that we cannot discuss to, IMO, keep the image of the board as far away from "ricers" and street racing as possible. (which i am all for)...so if i have to follow a few frivilous rules, so be it...

OK, well, I can't say that I agree with that reasoning, but I at least appreciate that someone responded to explain. Thank you.

Good question. I assume the policy is supposed to make it so that this forum is not seen to encourage idiocy (i.e. street racing), although I've always treated the street racing threads on other forums as nothing more than "my internet penis is bigger than yours" fantasies, which i can guarantee almost 99% of street racing stories are. Having said that, I'm not sure why threads like the one linked below are any better. So, dunno.

go to one of the other bmw forums to post them, like bimmerforums
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...play.php?f=124 for whatever reason the mods/owners here don't like them
