Where is your favourite road?
For me it's the road from Amalfi to Ravello up through the 'dragon gorge'.
The google earth image is looking straight down into the gorge and you can see the road climbing right up the side of the mountain in a switchback. Believe it or not - they drive coaches up here and they need to ease back and forth several times to get round the switchbacks. I spent 2 weeks here about 10 years ago and would love to go back and drive like the italians. |

I live in Chicagoland. We don't have fun roads.

More pics of the amalfi road - this time the amalfi to positano side:
The road is the buttressed construction about 2/3rds up the cliff and in this area it has a small concrete upstand (about 1 foot high) which is all that separates you from the ocean drop. This bit is in positano. How they built it I do not know: The part of the road is drained by open 'pipes' that drop through the road vertically into the void. You can look straight through them. I am pretty sure these buses are trying pass one another on the dragon gorge. And this is the best bit ... the switchback leading into ravello: The locals all drive little cars which is best on these roads and the usual approach is to use both sides of the road (unless there is traffic coming toward you) and to beep your horn on blind corners to warn people to pull back onto their own side. Lets have pics of your favourite drives..... |

In WA state ... any of the roads east of Mt. Rainier or Mt. St Helens. Very little traffic, and the surface is perfect as they're closed in the winter months.
This is also a lot of fun [ http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=13...,0.128918&om=1 ] if I got the hwy right. It's on the way between Spokane and Lake Wallowa, and if I got the right hwy # this bit of road goes through a really steep canyon for quite a few miles. By the time we were done, not only was my wife motion sick, but so was I. |

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=13...,0.128918&om=1 It's the vertical road in the middle. You'll have to zoom in to see the detail though, as that view is pretty broad.

140 -155 km/h = $25 160 - 200 km/h = unknown but i think its the double (plus they may take ur car for few days) 200+ = $125+ take ur car + jail for 1 day... but if they didnt catch u in the same day, u only pay the ticket,,,
