Opinions: Audi Q7 4.2?
Time to buy the wife a new SUV ... and no, there will be no buying of wagon versions of normal cars here, I've been through it a million times with her and she absolutely positively demands an SUV. I don't know what her problem is, I'm only married to her.
So, she loves the new Q7. I like it as much as I can like a big old monster people hauler. Right now it looks to be about the "coolest" of the luxury SUVs out there (I've never been a big X5 fan). Am I missing something else I should look at? The thing here is, who's car do we usually take on family trips when we're loaded with kid crap? Hers. And who always end up having to drive? Me. Right now she's got an older 4Runner that I can't stand driving. No power, rides like hell, seats kill my back. Since I kinda somewhat don't hate the Q7 do I go ahead and pony up, or steer her toward just buying a new 4Runner and then use the saved money for play? Is the Q7 really worth the cash? What's everybody think? And is there something else I should cross shop? |

we took a test drive couple of months ago...
IMO, it's a very nice car, nice interior and technology, not bad power as well if its worth the money, i'd rather get a cayenne or an X5, but its down 2 u in the end

X5's out ... since it doesn't have enough cargo room for all the crap my wife packs. Plus she hates BMWs (don't ask). Not to mention the new one is right around the corner.
I'll have to take a look at the RX400H ... If it's the same size as the normal RX, I believe it's probably too small for her. Her friend has the RX330 and she claims it's too small/car-like. I think she'd like a Tahoe or Surburban sized vehicle and the Q7 is "going smallish" for her. The sad thing is, we only have one child. But for a 2 day trip she'll pack that 4Runner so that there's a escape hole to get him out of the car seat and the rest is packed to the ceiling. |
