Lotus Elise
0-60 mph 4.7 sec with sport pack. Ultra-light car with only a 190hp engine.
46,270 $ + 2480$ with the sport pack. Superb design:

Fantastic car, albeit very raw. They drive pretty much like a slot car, but it's certainly pushing the limits of using it daily. I'm 6'3", and they aren't exactly easy to get in and out of; with the roof panels removed. Put those roof panels in, and you pretty much have to coat yourself in bearing grease to get in and out of one.

Hey Larry - try a 7even with the weathergear in place. I actually made it into a buddy's Caterham, but I'm only 6' 0". It would have been easier with a removable steering wheel though.

Only seats 2, super ugly, and somewhat fragile to just jack up or change tires. Bad choice all day long.
There's just something about the windshield and general proportions that makes me suspect that the Elise is built on a reworked third generation MR2 platform. Plus the Elise has a Toyota engine too. I've never cared that much about either car to do the research and see if there is any shared componentry. |

All Lotus, with the exception of the Toyota engine. Lotus wanted the Honda K20 engine, was told no, then approached Toyota who said yes. The Lotus would have been a MONSTER with K20 power! Google will bring up the performance numbers of these cars with engine swapped supercharged K20's in them.:eyebulge: |
