Is this kindergarden?

Why am I being censored in this thread?

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...newpost&t=1252

Stupid questions are stupid questions. Perhaps a little input from fellow users could improve the signal to noise ratio around here a bit.

What's the problem?

If its a stupid question, then just shake your head, close the thread and move along. Theres no reason to try to inflame a situation. That goes completly against the community we have here.

Sure, but it's all about where the mods draw the line though.

I think it's reasonable to expect people to be able to deal with one or two grains of sand in their underpants. Does everything have to be happyfriendlytouchyfeely?

Well isn't this a case for the mods where it comes down to "damned if you do and damned if you don't?"
There's been times- esp. during the first wave of press release photos, that threads got absolutely stupidly out of hand.

I know I've posted things that I regretted saying and tried to either pm the guy who I may have offended and aplogize or re-edited my responses to a more moderate frame of mind.

I welcome Harold and Freak. & I wish they posted more.

It's their call.

I'm with you bradford, people need to grow a pair.

I didn't realize this was the Kumbaya forum, I thought it was a car forum.

This is just the kind of thing I hate to read here where the reply is nasty and beligerent when it doesn't have to be.

To me, these spate of warnings by the mods are warmups as high-sherrifs-of-hell when the 1-er debuts.
Good.

I personally will find better things to do with my time if these forums turn into pissing matches between a bunch of 'wet behind the ears' know-it-alls (or if we start having the 'which wax' thread du jour ; -). If I want smack talk I'll watch Springer, I can at least laugh at that.

+1 GAZILLION!!! I'm here for informative discussion and of course let's have some fun too. I know I'm guilty of flamin some people on here, and this is probably the kettle callin the pot black, but it's only been in response to pointless inflammatory posts.

atr_ugo, I happen to like the 'which wax' discussions actually.

I was surprised at how early the mod stepped into that thread.

Over at NASIOC, if someone asks the same question in relation to a Subaru, the forum vets descend upon him like a pack of wolves, everyone laughs, and the thread either gets locked or kicked out to OT where even more shredding ensues.

Vin I think it's the mods firing some shots across the bow as warning and this guy just so happened to be in their sights.
There needs to be some kind of even-handed control that is present all the time.

Re: "even-handed control that is present all the time"

I don't really know how many moderators and/or administrators there are, but if there are just a couple, we could use a few more. It's probably safe to say that this forum isn't going to get any less busy.

Apparently this is kindergarten since some of us can't deal with the rules and learn to respect one another.

It's interesting that you're able to pass judgment without even seeing the posts in question.

He was pretty much spot on in his speculation, though.

Yes, I can see how asking "How old are you?" would reduce you to tears. I'm so sorry for hurting your feelings.
