Angry PS3 & Wireless Connection Help

i spent the last hour trying to hook my ps3 to my wireless router for the gran turismo 5 spec III update, wish i can just download burn on a disc and install but i can't seem to find that.

anyway the only settings i have on my router are WEP, other than that everything is untouched besides changing the administration password.

i get to the test connection page and when it gets to "obtaining ip address" if fails b/c it times out... wth? help much appreciated

hmm. I don't know much about that stuff either but I managed to get a connection with mine. Does your PS3 detects a wireless signal from your router or any router. If it does did you out in the security code. your wireless router signal may not be strong enough
??

I use wireless connection with my PS3, but I use WPA as my security setting, perhaps, your WEP security cannot be access through the PS3.

I couldn't get WPA to work with my PS3, so I had to go WEP. Once I did that, no problem. Maybe the OP should try WPA.

Do you have DHCP enabled?
