Ok so here's the story. Last night someone hit my car in the parking lot. He wanted to deal with cash so I took down his info and took a picture of both his license and license plate. I called my dealer and askef how much it was to replace one tail light and she said 170... Now we all know that blacklines from tischer are 245 shipped so I was just going to ask him for that amount for labor and shit. Am I bring unreasonable? Should I just take whatever amount it is to just get the one taillight fixed? And just pay the rest out of my own pocket or ask for the full price of the blacklines

170 to 245 is not much. I don't think it's wrong. It's going to cost you time to drive to your dealers and then get them replaced. That's a hassle. Ask for the full price for blacklines.

lol i always wanted someone to hit my blacklines because i paid 160 for them brand new from morristown, but i would go the dealer and make them pay the full price for a new set but buy them for 230 again and pocket the rest lol......i know its fucked up but times are ruff hahaha

Get what your light was worth. Its not right to rip off someone off. Atleast he stopped and wanted to pay for his mistake. Dont take adantage of someone like that, its bullshit and will come back and bite you in the @$$. Sack up and pay the difference for the blacklines if you want them.

I had to literally chase his ass throughout the parking lot.. I'm at the dealership and they quoted me a total of 270 to fix the left taillight including labor and tax.

The cost probably doesn't exceed his deductible, so it's pointless to report it to the insurance company.

Thats what I also thought... I just talked to him and just decided to ask for $195, that was the cheapest place I could find for the install which was $25 after tax, and the taillight being $170 after tax. Decided to order from Morristown BMW for $209 + $15 shipping. Either way, I'll be getting them for a lot cheaper than what I was going to get them for.

Funny thing. Ok so remember when I said I had to chase him? I knocked on his truck three time before I banged the side of hiq truck pretty hard. Supposingly it left a dent. He wants me to fix it so I just told him to get an estimate and call me back with the info. Should I have to pay for the dent on his car that I made. I think that if I didn't hit it he would have drove off. Btw this was right in front of a bar and I could tell that he had a couple of drinks.

His dent may cost just as much as your lights...Just your luck!! you may want to just call it a wash if you are actually going to pay him for his dent

pretty hard, enough to get his attention.. I talked to my attorney and she said to just let him do his thing, and if he wants me to pay for it, to tell him to go through my insurance and then I should also call my insurance and explain the situation and that I was left with no other choice but to take physical action. I have three witnesses that also saw that he was trying to run away.. No biggie, I ordered the blacklines from morristown .
