how do you respond when somebody tells you "nice car"

I've never really known what to say. I haven't really gotten any in the 335, but it happened all the time with my truck.

I would just say, "Thanks, I really appreciate it."

They would usually ask me questions, like "What size drop do you have and what brand?" "Who shaved your tailgate?" "What exhaust is that, I really like it?" "What all do you have done to it?"

I'm really modest and don't really like to talk about things like this, and actually get a bit uncomfortable for some reason. Guess I'm strange. I get nervous thinking they think I'm a stuck up little bitch, when I'm just quiet and uncomfortable with accepting compliments.

ROFL I'm the same way....I talk a lot but if you start asking me about my stuff I for some reason shut up immediately.
