Discount off of msrp right now for 530i xdrive?

Hi everyone, I’ve looked through the threads and can’t find a thread specifically on what discounts people are getting off of MSRP. I’d like to factor out any incentives from BMW and look at discount off MSRP from dealer. I’m looking at a 530i xdrive.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

In SLC dealer was giving close to 5-6% off MSRP.

According to Leasehackr, the discount can be as high as 10% just for the 530.

We recently received 10% off in Delray Beach Fl. With very little effort.

my deal

I found a 530ix and was only offered 3% off 73k, with a rebate of 2k and 2.99 bmw financing. After negotiating, i got 5% off w/ 2k rebate...so a total of almost 8%. There was a 4k rebate alone i could've used for military, but i would've had to pay cash/self finance as it couldn't be combined.

I bought my 2025 540iX and got 10% Military Discount off MSRP, EU Delivery for a US Spec car, and Tax Free until I eventually get it to the states. Then I pay Used car taxes on it based on what it is worth at that time. So all the depreciation works in my favor.

I don't know about all of you but from my experiences with car shopping, I found BMW dealerships far easier to deal with than other brands. When we were shopping for my fiancé's 330i, we also looked at VW Jetta and Acura integra. Both dealerships were very difficult to deal with, threw in dealer installed options almost 10% of the car's cost (with no transparency), and at times flat out lied to us.

I bought my car and my fiancé's car at 2 separate BMW dealerships. Both times the whole process was incredibly easy, they removed whatever suggested dealer installed options without question and was easy to negotiate the price. My fiancé was reluctant to get a Bimmer since it was a bit more compared to the other two cars we bought, but in the end she was like "you were right". The lack of stress was well worth the price difference of the cars.

Might want to use a broker as they can get you a far better deal. The target % off MSRP is BEFORE any incentives, rebates, etc. which should then go atop the base discount.

Dealerships tend to treat people based on the clientele they are used to dealing with. I know it's not fair. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. But people who walk into a VW dealer, or Honda/Acura dealer are (for the most part) not the same type of people usually walking into a BMW Dealer (Unless they are buying for their child's first car, or an employee). Mostly, you don't walk into a BMW dealer to argue for hours about the price of a car, or what options you want, or don't want. You walk in, Mostly after looking into the prices, options, etc.. Checking what they have on the lot in advance. And after making an appointment. You sit with a Sales Rep, and say "I have an appointment. I'm here to look at....." After you decide if you are buying new, Used, and on the lot or Special order, you ask about incentives (NOT DISCOUNTS). He knows you are probably already pre-approved, and know your credit rating before hand. He is hoping to let you finance through them if he can give you better terms. So the difference is then Lease/Buy, and what terms. No Stress. No raised voices or arguments. You know you can't get a new 550e for the price of a 330i, so you don't try to haggle your way up, or ask for unreasonably low prices for the more expensive car, and unreasonably high prices for your trade. Because, of course, you know what the trade is worth already. You are used to getting what you pay for. So if you want quality, you know it will cost more.

Now, the average guy (Or girl) walking in to a VW dealer to buy a Jetta (their lowest price car besides the Golf), thinks he is gonna SCORE! He (or She) of course wants the car for below invoice, wants a higher trim than he can afford, wants to argue his trade is worth thousands more than it is, and wants terms his credit rating will not allow. If he's pre-approved it's at something like 13% but he wants better. So the salesman who has had 15 difficult customers already that day, is not gonna bother. I'm not saying you are this guy Greg, nor is your Fiancée. Otherwise she would not be now driving a 330i. You just got bundled into the group with the ones who are. So the sales staff doesn't even want to try. They added those dealer options to the car already, because they are so used to having so small a profit margin on the cars themselves in order to move them, they have to do that in order to turn a profit and keep the doors open. (He thinks those Dealer options you say you don't want is just a ploy to get them for free, or at a reduced cost) So no, of course they are not going to remove them. They have a "Take it or leave it" attitude because they can. They know if you are not gonna be the sucker, then the next person who walks in 5 minutes later may well be.

Lol. If she was your wife and not your Fiancée, she would never have said such powerful words like "You were right". She would have said something like "Thanks. I like this one better anyway." and left it at that.

For reals? Check the lease hackr website. Many reputable ones there. I used Auto Companion.

I consider myself to be a reasonable negotiator, and used the % discount targets from lease hacker as a negotiating tool. At the time it was 8-10%. I reached out to two dealerships and asked them to match what the Brokers were offering. I really do like to keep my business locally if at all possible and expressed that in my email.

The closest dealership in Canton wanted to haggle over the discount and told me that 8-10% off MSRP wasn’t profitable. I really do not appreciate dishonesty or lack of authenticity, and this didn’t set well with me. While the location of the dealership would have been conveniently closer, I send my second email to the dealer 30 minutes away.

They offered no resistance and I received 8%. Considering the broker fee was 1%, it ended up being a wash at 9% off.

They also surprised me at signing by giving me a $2000 off incentive for conquest (I switched from Audi) and $1000 promotional incentive. Bringing my net % off MSRP to 11.8%

Overall, I have to say that my BMW purchase was the most stress free and uncomplicated auto transaction process I’ve experienced. My client advisor was a nice guy and I’ll return to him in the future.

That was a pretty good deal Todd. Normally I am able to negotiate. When I buy from a normal dealer. However in my case, with the Military sales program, there is no negotiation. You configure the car, and then send the build code to the dealer (Broker). He takes 10% off the MSRP. I also got reduced shipping (about half, because EU delivery vice US) and that's what you pay. The real savings for me is in the tax-free status. Normally in Spain a new car is like 21% IVA. So I get to drive it until I leave Spain. (Currently 2026, but negotiating extension to 2029). Once I ship it to the US, it's now a used car, and depending on what state I move to and register it in, I pay either no tax, or used car sales tax based on NADA or KBB value for the make/model/mileage.

No tax is huge! Especially for some of the West Coast States like California.

Yeah. If you go into the configurator and build a car. Then take 10% off the MSRP and add, $900 delivery charge. That's what I paid.
