interior detailing items
What are folks using for keeping dust and lent out of the cracks and seams in the interior of the vehicle? Detailing brushes, mini hand vacuums, anti-dust wipes/sprays, etc? What are you guys using? Looking for products to get. Thanks!

I just do two things.
I have not found a way to minimize the dust or static electricity, so I have resigned to doing a quick wipe down with the dry cloth every couple of times I get into the car. Interestingly, when I use the car on my own, there is not much dust, but whenever I have passengers, there is a lot more dust stirred up.

I end up using the iDrive wheel and surrounding control panel for so much of my interaction that I just use my regular microfiber cloth that came with my sunglasses to take care of fingerprint oil from time to time.

Yeah, I've been using a microfiber as well. I wipe down the front area of the vehicle while waiting for my daughter to come out of school while watching a movie on the Tivo app. That is ok but within seconds I see particles back. The fact you are moving a cloth over this type of plastic creates static electricity inherently and attracts particles. Eventually dust and particles get in the cracks and seams. I really want to find an anti-static spray that would work for at least a week or two. Almost like furniture polish is to furniture. I wonder if an ion air filter would also work if there is one that works in a vehicle.
What about this? Anyone use this? Matte finish? How does that look with piano gloss plastics? https://www.chemicalguys.com/product...detailer-16-oz

Microfiber is good at wiping off smudges but as an adverse effect also seems to statically charge the plastic, at least mine does, which will attract dust like crazy. So I am also using a cordless vac with a flexible hose attachment and a soft brush head.

I've been using this for a while. It has anti-static properties that's supposed to help repel dust. It works pretty well and has a nice clean light smell. I get mine at Amazon.

I also keep a couple of microfiber cloths. One in the glove box, one in the center console.

do yourself a favor
Use this: https://diydetail.com/collections/in...eramic-coating
Applying this product reduces the static cling and repels the dust but also adds great protection to the entire interior. Use a microfiber to apply and another to remove. |
