Not sure if you can block all EV stuff. If you don't like 'em you could avoid the aggravation and not look at EV forums.

I don't look at them but would be nice not to have in my news feeds list. They are needed for others, but not a option for me personally. |

This forum is the i5/5 series forum, probably not the place to come if you don’t want to read about the i5

They are not needed by me. I am a bit of a chemistry geek (biology major, chemistry minor) and I love the idea of using magnetic energy vs burning something to make heat energy. I love all cars but I bought the i5 to have a quiet sedan with plenty of power. I don’t particularly like ICE cars with automatic transmissions, but I will still read about them and look at them. I could say that real cars have manual transmissions. I’m sure there are people with 1960’s cars that hated cars with fuel injectors because they couldn’t rebuild the carburetor, instead a modern car is computer chips on a board. Where do you draw the line?

The G30 and F10/11 forums might be of more interest.

There was a small debate here in the begining about the fact that this forum covers both the i5 and the ICE 5 series (some were contesting that choice).
Personally I prefer that they are not separate because I'm interested in both the i5 and the PHEV version available here, which is technically an ICE (550e). I also like to see pics and comments from ICE owners in this same forum because other from drivetrain the car is essentially the same. If your wellbeing is compromised by the idea of EVs or seeing discussions about it, I suggest you prepare yourself because they are taking over. |

Would have rathered a lighter and better handling car instead. I'm in denial for a long time yet, Besides will be a long time in Australia until practical. I tow / I camp with no power / My work trucks park on the street at night not changed by employees / I like ICE :-) |

Well I just bought one
An unplanned purchase, going cheap at year end, i5 version.
I hate parking it (every parking lot in this country outside Costco is ridiculously tight), and the i5 is longer than most pickup trucks here, but otherwise WOW!! Yes, it isn't pretty, and it's a big sedan at a time when big sedans aren't the flavor of the month. But the whole family fits nicely, and it is smooth as silk, quiet, comfortable, and effortlessly fast at normal speeds (tightly enforced here, compared to most of the US). Truly an unexpected pleasure, seeing as I hadn't been looking to buy one at all. |
