My 1992 E30
Greetings from Maryland
My 1992 318i. With some much needed elbow grease she always looks like her old self. The clock shows 123700, but she has around 125K - the odometer stopped working years ago, but I rarely drive her except for some short local trips around town and a few trips around my neighborhood just to keep her in motion. She stays under a cover year round. I've thought of giving her up, but every time I do I find a reason to continue my stewardship over her. This time it's for insurance purposes. I blend rates between this car and my daughters XC60. It literally saves me close to $1800 a year and since she can't drive a stick (and refuses to learn) I've realized this beauty is worth far more to me than anyone can offer in cash |

1993 E-34 525i 5 speed
My 1993 E-34 525i. While I live in Vermont, I purchased this car in Redondo Beach, California on a layover in 2001.
Had it trucked to Chicago, then flew into ORD , drove it back through Canada ultimately back to Vermont. This car never sees any snow or salt, winter stored in a climate controlled garage, so maintenance on it has been minimal. New fluid and oil changes, that's it. Still running great (well needs a new clutch throw out bearing). Son drove it all summer when his F-30, N20 motor 328i Xdrive got noisy ! Last edited by Chamonix; 11-02-2024 at 03:31 PM.. |

I’m working on acquiring a very special E28 524td. I’ll post a ton of pics and the story if and when it’s finally in my possession. In the meantime, here is another E30 M3 that was sitting in the service department of a local BMW dealer last time I went in for some parts.

You don't find many td E28s in the USA. There's a section for them at MyE28.com:

Touch finding solid td however. There was a really nice 1 owner car in New Jersey not long ago. But I missed it by a few days. |

Not mine but I was going through some old pics recently and came across these of a 2002 I saw in the parking lot at work, back in late 2015. Don't know who the owner was, just had to grab a few shots of it because it looked so good. Figure this crowd would appreciate it. (Maybe the owner's here!)

She finally arrived yesterday. This is a very special 524td. It’s a 1984 model year u.s. spec car. Quite possibly the only 1984 u.s spec sold to the public. Now the fun begins. I’m going to do a full restoration and some period correct oem + modificatons (m-tech valance, rear spoiler, 16” style 5 wheels, m tech steering wheel and a factory td lsd).
Here it is with my 328d. So I may have the first u.s spec diesel sedan. Now if only I could find the last 2018 540d and not have my wife kill me. Last edited by 328dabi; 12-14-2024 at 08:56 PM.. |

Possibly. The car is owned by BMW AG and was on display at BMW of Manhattan which is BMW’s only corporate owned dealer (as in owned and operated by bmw North America). They had several cars on display. These pics were taken in 2015. Here are a couple more pics (not of the 2002)

My Beauty E24 M6 Code Name:REDFIN
So in December 2022 I picked up my now beauty of a show car. I went to the Vegas Mecum car show looking to buy an old 1972 GTR but it had so much damage that wasn't in the pictures. Right next to the GTR was this beautiful E24 M6. Instantly caught my attention. I was with my Dad at the auction as well and he really held his tongue when I started to check it out. didn't understand why but I blew it off as something small. Later it came across the block, put the money down, and took her home with me. Only at dinner that night did my dad tell me that he was so proud of me and that I actually had family history with E24's that I never knew about. My grandfather owned a BMW dealership in SoCal from 1969-1982. His favorite car the entire time he worked there was a red M6. He would always talk about that car whenever my dad would visit him at work. So my love for these cars has "transcended generations" as my dad said. So I did more homework on the car and found that she was delivered only one dealership north of where my grandfather's was. I guess it was a kind of fate.
Anyway, I gave her the name REDFIN because of the E24 nickname of "shark nose" and put the red shark sticker on her to seal the deal. (also the car was sold by a guy in Hawaii so fitting there as well). she has 52K miles, all original parts, 2 owners before me. the first owner had her for less than a year and couldn't make payments so it was repossessed and soon bought after by the next owner who took meticulous care of her till he sold her at auction. The only non original thing about her is now she has the gold BBS type 75 wheels instead of the silver BBS she was born with. but they're the same style and period just a different color. |
