I took delivery of my 2024 540i last May and have loved it. Last night I was driving and this message popped up on the main screen:

“Power Supply:

Stop carefully. Do not continue driving. Continued driving will lead to malfunction of safety relevant functions. Battery cannot be recharged. Call roadside assistance.”

I’m waiting to contact my dealer’s service department tomorrow, but am wondering if anyone has seen this. It seems like seven months is a little early for the battery to fail. Thanks.

Maybe it's not the battery but the alternator. It's telling you battery cannot be recharged, not that the battery is bad. That could be that the alternator went out so you are basically running on the battery, and once that charge goes out, you are stuck.
