I received a notification in the app yesterday that Shell Recharge was now compatible with plug and charge.

It shows as active now in my Shell Recharge account.

I’ll see if it works with the chargers at my office—I’ll be a little surprised if it does, as they are pretty basic.

Just a heads up that this is rolling out if you haven’t’ seen the notification already.

Got my notice yesterday too. All looks good, but I have not had a chance to test it anywhere.

We have Shell Recharge at the local Safeway, but they are free to use. It should still recognize them from the app. I’ll give it a try.

Has not worked for me yet (at least at my office charger, the only one I've tried). However, since this update (unless I just didn't pay attention before), iDrive keeps saying "Applying settings" for location-based charging in the dialogue that comes up when you power off the car.

Rebooting iDrive showed the proper settings yesterday, but today again it was back to "applying settings." It has not offered me the plug and charge/charge here option.

Anyone else seeing this?

Even if the plug and charge available here doesn’t appear on the iDrive display when you power off, it could still work. This happens to me sometimes at EA yet P&C works fine when I plug in.

I haven't received a notification about this yet. I have an active Shell Recharge account in the MyBMW app. When I search for charging stations, Electrify America is marked as Plug and Charge but Shell Recharge stations, like EVGo, are not. Do I need to have a Shell Recharge account set up with them?

Go to charging > Shell recharge > manage account in the app which should trigger the contract to be sent to the car. You can toggle it on through iDrive (although this will toggle off the EA since it seems only one can be active at a time). I’m sure not every Shell recharge station will immediately support P&C but rather it’ll be a slow rollout process.

Looking into this further, in charging settings in the car, it seems you can only have one plug & charge contract enabled at a time. Electrify America was selected. I toggled over to Shell Recharge to see if that will trigger it to work at my office.

Not sure I understand why they both can’t be enabled so it selects whichever one works with the connected charger.
