When the road type suits I drive in sport mode and it is just like an ice. For my normal usage I have electric driving on, drive in personal mode and when needed I floor it and still get all 489hp of hybrid power. 3rd bmw hybrid over last 10 years and works perfectly. This 550e is by far and away the most practical and user friendly. You need to visit the dealership, not a forum unfortunately. |

For your normal usage, when you have electric driving on, do you burn any fuel at all? Or is it 100% battery?

This is what i'm trying to say, if i'm using only battery, why does my fuel continue to go down? Alternatively, when I use only ICE, why does my battery range continue to go down? I can't be the only one experiencing this here??

If your fuel is actually decreasing (the fuel Gauge is decreasing, not just the distance until empty) - there are really only three possibilities. A software bug in fuel reading, a fuel leak, or that the engine is turning on and being used while you are unaware of it. Applying some basic reasoning here and we can almost certainly say that it must be the third case. I can't speak to whether or not the ICE *should* be coming on in your situation but it certainly *must* be coming on. |

As an aside if you drive in sport mode but with the drive train set to comfort the ice kicks in much sooner, even with gentle acceleration but it still stays mostly in electric. |

There is no way only to use ICE as the electric motor is chipping in too when you accelerate.
