Saw the JB4 plug and play tuner is out for the 540…

Adds 125 hp to the crank for a total of 500 Hp. I’m convinced the engine makes more than the advertised 375 bhp.

Anyone planning on getting this?

Those are some pretty impressive figures. They list graphs for Map 2, 4 and 6. I can't seem to locate any information on the requirements for Map 6 (500hp) though. I think Map 2 would be no nonsense, Map 4 would be okay for people that have access to 93 octane, with the EWG connector.

JB4 Map Guide:

Map0: Stock tuning, fully disable JB4
Map1: 3psi over stock added (91 octane)
Map2: 4psi over stock added (91-93 octane)
Map3: 6psi over stock added (93+ octane)
Map4: Absolute target map with peak target of 20psi (93+ and/or 30% E85, EWG connector suggested)
Map5: Absolute target map with peak target of 22psi (30% E85+ fuel, EWG connector suggested)
Map6: Custom tuning map -- see details on JB4tech.com B58 JB4 page
Map7: Progressive WMI map with tuning a function of meth flow and user-defined boost additive.
Map8: VALET / Low Boost Map

Premium is in abundance where I live in Ohio.

Just not sure how safe these are. Would imagine if something did go wrong BMW will know a tuner was on and void all warranty work required.

I’m in Ohio as well! 😊 was happy to move back and find that I could get 93 octane. Agree, on the warranty related concerns. I have no idea if it would be traceable.

I went through BMW of Akron to place my order. They were very transparent, easy to work with and no nonsense.

BMW of Canton was closer, but they wanted to dicker around and not meet the pricing I could have gotten through a broker. Even went so far as to say the broker discount “wasn’t profitable”. (Sure, all the broker contacts are selling them at a loss). So, I discontinued discussions with them.

Still waiting on delivery…and waiting…and waiting.
