Climate Sync not staying on !

I took delivery of an i5 m40 touring last week and found a frustrating issue. When I set the climate control to ‘Sync’ it works fine while using it. The next time I go to the carit’s turned off but all the other settings have remained i.e climate set to auto and air con.
I have asked my dealer (in the UK) and they haven’t heard of an issue. I have just read a similar post on here on the 7 series so it’s clearly an idrive software glitch
Is anyone else having this issue or found a fix ?
Any help would be appreciated

I have this issue too and have been wondering the very same thing. It means the backseat climate always defaults to 22 degrees which costs range and is a waste if no one is sitting there. Oh well, not a biggie on otherwise a fantastic car. Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply. I must check the rear seat settings. Do you have the comfort plus pack?

Same here. Was under the impression it was by design. But it is a bug? Good to know.

I have not noticed this in my car (doesn't mean it's not there though). I DID notice that the car is smart enough to know when there is a person in the passenger seat or not. Regularly, when I'm in the car alone, the temperature is synced. However, when my wife is with me in the passenger seat, her temperature is set to whatever she had it set to last time. I thought that was a neat feature.

I guess I'm easy to please.

I have noticed it. But whenever I tell the car to set a temp, it changes both anyway, so it hasn't been a concern. I wonder if after I set sync I need to save the seat settings so it saves it to the profile.

Same here. Also the individual auto settings for seat heating/ventilation are adjusted based on whether there is a passenger. It works pretty good.
It's just not showing the sync sign.

Lots of talk and posts about this in the 7 Series forum and now sadly iX and 5 Series. The SYNC not staying was a KNOWN 7 Series only bug, but sadly inept BMW software engineers allowed this bug to slip in to 07/2024 software (my new 2025 iX got hit with this damn SYNC bug weeks after I took delivery).

Once the car sits (7 Series, iX, 5 Series and I think X5/6/7) the SYNC deactivates. In the 7 and iX...the rear climate automatically reverts to 72F AUTO and very low fan speed. Drives me nuts!

I have had multiple conversations and email with BMW about this, and they are clueless!!!
