It has been 3 weeks since i picked up my car from the dealership. After picking up I set up eSIM and it works while i am using the car (Navigation, YouTube, Assistant etc.) However when I am a little far from my car, I cannot access remote features of the MyBmw app such as 3D camera, inside camera, climating before ride, and app does not update my car when I open the app. It shows last updated time as my leaving time of the car. I contacted dealership 2 weeks ago and they told that they shared this with BMW group DE however there is no update on this issue yet. I contacted again today and they said they will register the issue again to have a solution. Has anyone experienced such thing like mine and if so have you come up with a solution?

The remote functions from the myBMW app are separate from and do not require the eSIM. Also, it's normal for the app last update time to show the last time you left the car. This date and time only update when the car communicates with the BMW servers such as when locking/unlocking or when successfully executing a remote command. Ensure that you have the data protection settings in the car set to the most liberal setting to allow all the remote functions to work.

You should be able to activate long range features from further away. For instance I travel quite a bit for business and park my i5 at SFO - I almost alway start preconditioning when I’m taxiing after landing, which it does without issue normally. As LVBMW says, it doesn’t matter if the date/time doesn’t update when you’re away from the car from my experience.

Update: still having the issue checked the setting for privacy. Everything is selected 3d remote, mybmw other settings. Just wrote an email to the BMW DE again. Hope this helps

What exactly happens when you try the remote camera view, for example? Do you receive a particular error?

Update: emailed again BMW DE and the problem is solved I can access all the features now. 🤝
