I received this device with the car. I wondered what for since the car supports eSIM.

Turns out that the car eSIM only works if BMW has tied up with a mobile phone carrier in your country to supply eSIMs for the car. Since none of the mobile phone carriers in mine have any tie-up, no eSIM for me! Maybe BMW will do so in the future since all the mobile phone carriers provide eSIMs for the Apple Watch / Galaxy Watch.

So, I had to obtain a physical nano SIM and set up "eSIM" in the car using the SIM Reader. It was fuss free and paired quickly.

Once paired, YouTube and AirConsole worked as advertised!

Now if only YouTube works when driving...

Youtube Shldnt work when driving. Possibly in future with the passenger screen in LCIs that the driver cannot see.
