Bluetooth and Android Auto

I'm wondering if anyone has seen this issue yet. I just picked up my 540iX on Monday. I was able to connect the Bluetooth on my Samsung S20+ to the car, but when trying to connect Android Auto it says Bluetooth@ no longer compatible. So I tried using my wife's Iphone 13 Pro Max. No Apple Car play either. I tried the dealer's Android phone also. No dice. Today I tried to connect a friend's brand new Samsung S24+ and same thing happened. It connected the phone, but could not use Android Auto.

The dealer is trying to get the tech dept to look into it. When I get in the car, Android Auto tuns on on the phone, and on the IDrive screen it says ready to connect Android Auto on your Samsung S20+, but when I hit the message to connect, it again says Bluetooth@ no longer compatible. He think's it's because it's a US Specs car and my phone is European Specs. But my wife's Iphone is US. So what gives? I think it's a problem with IDrive. So I tried restarting it, but same. I can make phone calls, and play music, but not use Android Auto. I also got it with US Cartography so I don't even have the native GPS to use. I'm currently using a cellphone holder in a cup holder to navigate. But I don't think that is a permanent solution.

I did. Reboot IDrive, and my phone. Twice. Removed the phone, re added it etc. I even tried it on my wife's Iphone 13 Pro Max, and a friend's brand new Samsung S24+. Same issue.

Is it possible I need to activate the personal E-SIM in order to get it to work?

I don't think the eSim has anything to do with the Bluetooth functionality. May be a problem with the car's bluetooth?? not sure.

Weird, because my phone does connect to Bluetooth. I can make and receive calls etc... Just not with Android Auto or Apple Car Play does it say incompatible Bluetooth.

Something similar would happen, rarely, on my previous G08 iX3. Really random and when it did no amount of reboot, re-pair etc would fix it. Drove off, did whatever I was gonna do and then later or the next day it would work again. Didnt do anything about it really. But it wasnt regular so not quite the same situation.

Yeah, the issue with mine isn't that it sometimes doesn't work. It's that it has never worked since I got the car on Monday.

When you go to the Mobile Devices app in iDrive, can you select Android Auto on the screen showing your phone? There are three check boxes there: Phone, Audio and Android Auto. On my car, if I click the Audio box, Android Auto won't connect. But if I click the Android Auto box, the Audio doesn't connect. Those two seems to be mutually exclusive. I think the reason is because Android Auto handle the music playing when it's connected so you don't need the separate Audio connection.

Check that screen to make sure Android Auto is selected. You probably did that already, but just adding it here to make sure.
