Status code 150

Is it normal that it changes from 112 to 150 nearly 3 weeks before the build date?

Hi Dave, yes it is. Keep in mind that “Production Begins” means something different to customers and BMW. This just means that all parts needed to construct your vehicle are being gathered, accounted for, ordered, selected or allocated.

It does not mean they are actually building the car. Once it starts through the other steps, like Exterior Body Assmembly and the Paint Shop, there’s a “real” vehicle in the process of production.

It’s not uncommon for the status your vehicle is at now to occur 3-4 weeks prior to production.
