Stuck in QC
Like many others, my 550e has now been stuck in Quality Control. Today is 4 weeks since completion of production.
I’ve only seen one other person in the boards say his car has been released. Anyone heard any additional information? My patience is waning. Of course I have no alternative at the moment. Thanks. |

Considering the 550e build that moved had an original production date of 9-5. My purely speculative guess is I’m lagging 6 days behind that. |

I am on the same train. My 550e has been in QC for about 5 weeks. My 2nd lease extension on my 2021 M550 terminates in early November, so I am thinking of buying my car.

I was in quality control for 3+ weeks, then within a day or two was "at the port" and then it took 2+ more weeks to get on a boat. I don't know what is holding up things at the factory; I have ordered many cars in the past and QC took days not weeks.

I think what’s most disappointing is that there has been no communication from BMW. While I can understand that they may not wished to address each case separately it would seem prudent to issue a global statement about vehicles rotting in “Quality Control” for weeks or months. My 540 has also been stuck in QC, I believe 5 weeks now. I don’t even bother checking the status anymore as I just get angry when I see it stuck on QC lol.
If we got some info from BMW I think it would help because being in the dark about a car we ordered is extremely annoying. My first custom order and this is how it’s going ![]() |

I called Genius for the second time since the process started. I really feel sorry for these people. I wouldn’t want their job. They have no idea and no additional information. I have a feeling she shook a magic 8 ball, and it came up with this: Last edited by ToddRGuy; 10-17-2024 at 01:21 PM.. |

I agree that even a global message from BMW would be nice! |
