I5 Stop Sale - How I resolved it
I've had a deal done for 3 weeks on a white '24 I-5 M60. Neither the dealership nor BMW customer service has been able to give me any updates on the stop sale lifting, everything is vague and ETAs are non-existent.. Allegedly the dealership got parts in to fix one vehicle, and I was number three on the list. Calling around to other dealerships within a 500 mile radius I got the same answers nobody really knows.
While talking to one of the dealerships in my area, they realized they had one metallic gray unit that was not impacted by the stop sale. I verified it with BMW And also checked that there is no open recalls on the VIN. Although MSRP was 10K higher (It had the executive option, suspension option, and nicer leather option the white one didn't), I actually was able to negotiate a much deeper percentage-wise discount. It also helped that they had had the unit for almost 300 days due to the price point and lower interest in EVs in Texas.🤠 So anyway, for those of you looking to buy, you might get lucky.. It may not have everything you're looking for, or like in my case it has way more stuff than you want, but it appears there are unicorns out there. I lucked out and found one. 😎 |

Awesome, you scored! Congratulations! Sparkling Graphite, aka Sophisto Grey? LOVE the wheels too, my fave on the i5. Enjoy!

The wheels are growing on me, I wanted the 20" Aero wheels, but this one had the 21" Bicolor instead. I've put about 200 mi on it since Friday. That's included about 3 20 mi segments where I let the car do the driving. That's going to take a minute to get used to but I'm pretty impressed with how well it works. The automatic lane changing is a little abrupt, and I wish it had more than three options for following distance, but those are really my only nitpicks so far. After reading the internet a little too much I was concerned the ventilated seats would be loud and ineffective here in Texas. On the highest setting without the radio on you can definitely hear the fans but to me it's far from excessive noise. It was 97° F yesterday and I could feel the cooling effect so they work for me for sure. |

The vented seats in the i4, iX and i7 are ok, and of course better than nothing, but the i5 ventilated seats are amazing!!! |
