540 xDrive to be MSport or not to be

Hi folks my 2022 G30 M550 lease is up next month and just getting ready to connect with some dealers to get a custom 540 order in. I barely use the power in the M550 so am considering downgrading to the luxury non MSport trim but have a few questions (amongst others)...

1) Wheel size - looks like 20" staggered rims are the only option above base for the non MSport trim. 245/40R20 front and 275/35R20 rear. My current M550 has 245/40R19 front and 275/35R19 rear. So we have the same amount of sidewall despite the bigger 20" tire am I correct? So probably will have similar ride quality (which is great)?

2) Is there a noticeable thickness difference between the non MSport steering wheel and the MSport? I do like how grippy the M550 wheel is. And is the flat bottom a bit weird?

3) The only option I want in the Executive Package is the glass controls... do they make much a difference? Are they slippery or have enough friction? I would prefer to have the sliding sunroof so it's a tricky one.

4) The space saver spare - can it fit full size luggage pieces while flat? I travel a lot on the road. I suppose get it anyway and then throw it out if it doesn't fit?

Many thanks

Yes the ride is VERY similiar! Get the sport packages and you'll be happy. And the flat bottom wheel is wonderful.. I can't speak to the thickness but women have never complained in mine. The lunar sky roof keeps the car cool but its the panoramic roof that you want.. As for the glass controls, go for it! They class it up and are NOT slippery. But the cheapos catch the light nicely and are just fine!
But the trunk is definitely smaller.. run flats are nicer but a spare has its advantages. I can live with the trunk but you'll be surprised at the difference.
As for the ride, nothing beats a V8 except for this inline six... It is powerful to the point of a cautionary tale! In fact, you may have TOO MUCH power here too! It is a fantastic car!!!

Thanks Wip! One more question do you think they would approve an individual paint? Marina Bay Blue metallic looks amazing.

I’ve wondered if this depends on any quotas that may exist on individual orders by a dealer in a model year. I’ve heard some have trouble getting 4-zone climate approved through their dealer but it was not an issue for others including myself.

Oh yeah thats a beautiful color.. but does the trim lose itself in all that? Shadowline trim MAKES this car!!! I ended up with what I could get which is cape york green. These are adaptive paints so that blue goes from the intensity of a light bulb to the color of the ocean at night, while the green varies from minty fresh in the light to blue gray in crepuscular. So I like it OK.. If I could click my ruby slippers together I would have gotten white. The trim really POPS with the white if you want it to stand out.
But its the interior you want to pay attention to.. The smoke white with the exterior green saved it all for me! Its an unusual combination and it was a nice change from my G30 which was a theme car. People wanted to try me at lights and chat in parking lots which gets old eventually. Now I have an unflashy ride so I can cruise in peace!
Lastly, the Veganza seats are the most comfortable I've ever sat in... they really do feel more like loungers. So don't feel like you HAVE to get the executive package! High seventies is ALOT for a 5!
