No hotel for PCD

Just read on BMW’s website that no hotel is included anymore for SC PCD. Which also drops a free dinner and breakfast.

Only $200-$300 worth but still disappointing.

That's disappointing if true. At this rate future PCD orders will pay extra for the "experience".

Ok, then I'd skip it. BMW watering down everything that makes them different than the rest. They're inching closer to being the GM of Germany.

If it’s anything like it was when I picked up my E90 M3 there in 2010, then it’s still worthwhile. Granted the inclusion of hotel room and a meal made it feel more premium for the entire experience to be no additional cost besides getting there. Then the number of times I got thumbs up from other drivers as I drove the M3 back home was a bonus. The V8 M3 sedan was still pretty rare then.

We paid $500 to pick up our Corvette at the NCM back in 2006. With the factory tour it felt worth it (no meals, no lodging). Now it is $1000 and I’m not sure there is still a factory tour.

We’re picking up our 550e at the PC sometime in the next month (I hope). I’ll let everyone know how it went - and also how the roads in SC, NC TN and KY have fared. Could be interesting.

I-40 in western NC is closed long term due to damage from Helene so you’ll need a different route. I’m in KY so that was always the most direct from Knoxville to Asheville to Greenville/Spartanburg.
