Hi All,
I am bringing my car (m60) in to get the latest software update from the dealer today, which looks to be fairly substantial. It got me thinking about features I wish were included in the update. Top of mine would be to change the ambient lighting in any mode. I like to have the car in efficient on long highway drives but I hate that I can’t change the interaction bar colors in that mode. Obviously some modes like expressive and virtual art have distinctive colorways having the sport colorway in efficient would be a nice touch.

So, my question to the rest of you is this: what small tweaks are on your wishlist? Obviously something like lifting the US restrictions on the high beams and inability to code anymore would be tops on all of ours, but I’m talking about smaller convenience items. Looking forward to hearing from you all!

I'd like to see more colors available for the color bar in the car. It would be nice if there was a color "wheel" where you pick whatever color you want instead of just picking from a set list of colors.

I'd also like the ability to push "up" on the iDrive wheel to select the shortcut menu when I'm in Android Auto. Currently, pushing up on the iDrive wheel only works when I'm NOT in Android Auto, but does work when in one of the iDrive screens (like the Home screen for example).

I would like the ability to show the music on my USB drive by folders as a default setting. Currently, if I want to see the USB music by folder, I have to select Search first, then select Folders, then it shows me the folder tree. When I change to my USB music in the car, I want the default screen to pop up showing my list of folders.

I'd like the ability to "mix and match" stuff on the home screen. For example, currently when I press the home button, it shows me the BMW map on the right and the widgets on the left. I'd like to keep the widgets on the left, but change the right pane to Android Auto.

I'd like the ability to create a custom drive mode in addition to just the "Personal" mode. Customization would include setting my own background for the home screen and setting my own colors. Alternatively, I'd like to be able to purchase more modes from the iDrive store which add new graphics and colors and themes and perhaps sounds to the vehicle (similar to the way Digital Art and Expressive mode do this).

Another thing I'd like to see is the ability to change any setting in the car remotely using the myBMW app. For example, if I want to change my mirror settings from folding in upon locking, to not folding when locking I should be able to do that from the app without having to get in the car to do it. Basically, any setting that's changeable in the car should be changeable remotely so when you get in the car, it's already changed.

The above example would be useful to me when I'm washing the car. I don't want the mirrors folded when I'm hand washing my car, but I like them folded all other times. It would be nice to just change that in the app rather than getting into the car to turn it on and off every time I wash the car.

Ideally, I'd like to "remote in" to the car to make any changes I want. Sort of like when you remotely control or connect to a PC.
