My understanding is that bmw does a software update about once every 3-4 months. Does anyone have the latest software or is everyone still on the 3/24 version?

If you have a later version what has changed?

Richard, just curious but did the update resolve the blackout issues that you were experiencing, periodically?

Too early to tell. It was very infrequent so I’ll need to likely keep an eye on it for a couple of months tbh

Can you guys be more specific on the black screen issue I've had an ongoing problem with my iDrive where the right screen would flicker on and off doesn't do it all the time it's random maybe once or twice a month I've taken it to the dealer they said it was a software issue and I was waiting for an update or they were waiting for an update I have taken videos of it

Have you tried doing a re-start on IDrive? With the car stopped and in standby, push and hold the volume roller for (Timed) 70 seconds, then release it. This will cause IDrive to do a cold boot. Most of the people here that have done that makes the issue go away. At least for awhile.

I had a very specific issue where my iDrive seemed to shut down on me (happened two times in ~8,000miles). That meant that the settings associated with my BMW ID were removed and I needed to either reboot iDrive or restart the car to reconnect with my ID - that changes things like mirror positions, A/C settings and also my navigation.

That sounds different to your situation however.

Yeah I'm not having issues like that I'm just having issues with the screen literally going on and off every like 30 seconds and if I shut the car of and go back in problem goes away for a couple of weeks or if I reboot the iDrive
