i5 Combined Charging Unit Issue

After 2 months of usage, my i5 tripped my home BMW 22kw/h charger (while charging at 11KW/h).

The same also happens when I tried it on another charger.
Anyway my home charger works perfectly with my iX3.

So it is a i5 issue.

I limited the charger to output only 4.1 KW/h ... no joy.
Limited the current setting to 6A ... no joy.
I tried charging it with a single phase supply worked OK (at around 2KW/h).

BMW service said there was a software upgrade needed for the CCU ... but also no joy.

Has anyone faced a similar problem?

Garage List
Have you tried limiting the power setting in the car instead of on the charger?

What do you mean by 'tripped'? Was the BMW charger 'tripped' or the home fuse box?
Means 'tripped' that a fuse was tripped or that the RCD (Residual-current device) tripped.

The later has nothing to do with the amout of power/current drawn. Which seems to correlate with your experiments...

i5 M60 here with 5,000 miles. 2 days ago my car got completely bricked from one moment to the other. Drove it to the office and I when I wanted to leave 4 hours later, it didn’t move. Wasn’t even possible to put it in neutral. BMW verdict: Damaged CCU. Let’s see how long it takes them to fix this.
