G60 21" all season or snow tires?
I really like the look of the optional 21” rims but they come with summer tires.
Having winter temps down to zero, I hesitate getting these rims as I cannot find all season or winter tires that fit. Anyone know of any? If not I would have to spend $4k to $5k on a winter rim/tire set. |

Yes there are options but not a bunch. I ended up having to go with Vredestian for fronts and Dunlop for rears. The tread patterns are extremely similar but obviously would have prefered the same all around.

If you search for some suitable aftermarket rims you will likely be able to reduce your budget for some 20 inch winter tires and corresponding rims.

Been looking into this.....couldn't going with slightly bigger tires in the front and rear solve this?
The stock 21 inch tire sizes are 255/35/21 in front and 285/30/21 in rear. The Tesla Plaid stock tires are 265/35/21 and 295/30/21....there are 2 all season tires available in those sizes. Wouldn't these sizes probably fit? The rolling circumference difference would be the same as the OEM sizes.....so no issues there. I can't see 0.4 inches more width causing any rubbing issues....?

I've had lots of 21 and 22 inch wheels and never had an issue unless my tire pressure was too low. Sure, if you hit a major pothole....then you are screwed regardless of whether you have 15 inch rims or 22 inch rims.

I find that tire size makes a big difference on imperfect roads. We have lots of freezing/thaw days that wreak havoc on the asphalt and create lots of hazards. My 20 inch tires and rims have suffered a lot of abuse, my 19 inch winter rims/tires fare much better.

The 21” tires are 245/35 and 275/30.
The Tesla tires are almost an inch wider as well as taller. Not sure they would work. Plus how does computer recognize these tires. Tire shop once put on wrong rear tires on my 540 and traction alert came on anytime of acceleration cutting engine power. |

So perhaps the answer is use all season 245/40 and 275/35 instead of summer’s 245/35 and 275/30.
