Hi all,

Long time lurker, but have just ordered an i5 touring here in the UK. The dealers have got their demonstrators in (and up for sale typically) but not seen one on the road in the wild.

Unfortunately we can't get the xdrive 40 and we also can't get burgundy Veganza.

But then we do get 4 zone climate and our option packs are nicely bundled, so I am getting a comfort+ and tech+ .

I am also loving the chrome looks on some of the pictures shared in the pictures thread of European cars, all M Sports get shadowline (not extended) in the UK no option to have silver window surrounds. I am not actually sure i would do it but I really do like it.

I am also toying between Espresso Veganza and Smoke White. My order is currently for Espresso. I still feel the Carbon Black, Silver non pro 'grill' and the Espresso will land in a stunning spec, but equally so will Smoke.

Ordered confirmed July 1st with build Scheduled for early September for a first week of November collection.

I was quoted a 20-22 week lead time when initially enquired, which was about 2/3 weeks before actually ordering. I think I could have got it a few weeks earlier but I didn't want it until November so it worked out well.

I have black sapphire with the smoke white interior. It's a great combo.

My only worry is I’ve not seen Espresso in person. I’ve seen and sat in the smoke white with Carbon trim, and the brown I’ve seen on YouTube look a lot lighter than the configurator. So I’m basing my judgement on YouTube.

I had seen this photo in the pictures thread. It definitely helped me not waver and switch so Smoke White - you have the carbon too so it’s pretty much exactly as mine will be.

Long time lurker here too. I ordered mine on 23rd March 2024 but subject to a 2 week cooling off period, so dealer got the order 8th April 2024. Original dealer delivery date was 18th August 2024, but that is now 28th July 2024, so worked out at 16 weeks if they stay true to their schedule. Last i saw was status 1st july 2024 - 155 build complete, quality checks, i think (you can get updates via BMW Uk webchat once you have the VIN number).

Ah awesome good to see another UK touring incoming.

You must have been fairly high up the order list to be getting it in the middle of Summer!

I ummed and ahhhed for a while. With my sensible hat on I don't need a new car and I certainly don't need one much before Christmas so going to have to wait.

I still have only seen the dealer demonstrator but not actually driven it.

My car went to Status 150 last week and is slated for production Wk commencing September 2nd - Week 37.

Dealer thinks it will be with them and handed over to me in the first few weeks of October, when I ordered I was told mid November so a nice surprise.

Having gone to 150 I have a VIN so have added to the app which gave me these higher quality renders than the UK configurator does (although it still shows the Espresso veganza badly.)

Whilst I nearly wavered and went to Smoke White as I have seen it, I actually missed the deadline as the car went to 150 a little sooner than expected.

ETA: The order date with BMW UK was July 1st. From what I can gather this makes it a MY25 car. Not sure if there is a way to tell. I don’t think anything has actually changed from 24 - 25 either in the UK at least.

My status changed to delivered to killingholme in the UK on the 23rd July, it’s currently at Vertu being “dealer prepped”. Exciting!

The order sheet should have a Model Year. The Sheet from BMW NA should have a code for the model. Mine says 255D. The 25 is the model year the third number is the series. All 2024's said 245_.

When did you order? I think there is someone who posted a thread who picked their touring up in the past week - likely on the same boat if yours is with Vertu

It feels like this is the first big wave of customer cars I know there is dealer demonstrators and dealer ordered cars up for sale but I think the first customer orders are starting to come through now.

I picked up my i5 touring beginning of July. BMW started deliveries of the touring end of May. This is in Europe.

Ah congrats how are you finding it?

There are definitely loads of dealer demos and dealer ordered cars in dealerships, but I wasn't sure if customer specced cars had already started coming through here in the UK.

Great car. Just came back from a family vacation to France. All went very well and especially the kids loved it.
I have a customer specced car which I ordered in March. Lead time was 16weeks.
Hopefully you get yours soon.

Finally have gone to 151 right on schedule for my WK36 slot. Still on track for WK39 (WC 23rd of September) delivery according to the genius online.

Should have the car before the end of the month.

Am going to order some mats with the dealer and start getting even more excited and trying not to status check it every day.

Well, as of yesterday morning I was still at 150. Don't know if that moved up int he afternoon, or will today. Since I have no way of checking myself, I have to rely on my broker checking and letting me know. Normally he only checks on Mondays, but I asked him if he would check daily this week to see if/when it actually starts in the body shop.

I have definitely been checking every day.

I went 151 and 152 on the same day it turns out - when I checked yesterday morning it had hit 152 the night prior.

I checked again this morning at about 8am UK time and it had been updated this morning going to 154 so it is being properly built today!

So it feels like it goes from 150 to paintbooth the same day, then it takes a day in paint then hits the line, which I think it then flies through.

Nice to know. I thought it spent like 2-3 days in the paint shop. I just pinged him since I have not heard anything since Monday. From what I understand it takes about a week to go from 151 all the way through the line unless there are special circumstances that take it out of the line for something extra. We'll see if there are any changes for me.

I just found out. I am also at 154 as of today.
