I have Tinnitus. All the time. Originally I thought "Why bother with the more expensive stereo if I am not going to be able to appreciate it?" The difference between the HK in a 540iX and the B&W in a 530iX test drive cars was significant enough to me to fork out the additional cash. I could actually hear better and whereas I normally just use the stereo for background noise, or Talk Radio, I actually enjoyed the music.

I have the B&W in my new I5 M60 and the sound quality is indeed better than the HK I had in my G30. More depth, more precise sound and more power +
nice features like the loudspeakers with backlight. Having said this the HK was an excellent system and frankly, unless you are an audiophile then the HK system will do fine and is definitely an upgrade from the standard system.

Would it be correct to summarise the old and new sound systems this way?

G60 HK = G30 base
G60 BW = G30 HK

There is no G60 BW for me to try out and I'm wondering whether to spring for the BW. It's a ~US$2000 option in my country

I have mixed feelings on whether I would want the full Diamond B&W option available on this car. The $950 upgrade to the entry level B&W is an easy pick for me, but $3k+ for Diamond would give me more thought.
