Anyone cross-shop I5 versus I7?
I7 deals are really good this month....in that a I7 60e isn't much more per month than the i5 M60 due to the large incentives BMW is offering on those.
Anyone cross-shopped these and have thoughts? It's tempting to go with the I7.

There is already a thread about folks shopping/comparing both in this forum somewhere. You can probably do a search and find it.

For me, the I7 was/is much bigger. Too big for me personally. That was really the deal killer for me. I went with the I5M60. I love it, but even this car is a bit too big for me. |

IMO, the i7 is a clear downgrade in terms of looks compared to the i5.

I traded my 2024 i5 M60 for a very loaded 2024 i7 xDrive 60 and I am IN LOVE with my i7!
My i5 was awesome, but the 7 Series (as it should for the price) feels much more luxurious and I get 50-100 miles more range per full charge...but my i5 was no slouch with range. The seats in the i7 are the most comfortable I have ever felt...better than Rolls & Bentley. The soft touches and padded everything you see and feel also is an upgrade from the 5 Series. I think the new 5 and 7 both look great on the outside, but the 7 has MAJOR road presence, whereas the 5 can look pretty generic and plain with certain colours and wheels. With rear steering, the i7 does not drive or park big, but it is BIG. The 7 Series is the same length as the Rolls Ghost. I do not mind big cars, but if you like smaller...the 5 is the way to go. But, FYI...the current 5 Series is as big as some past 7 Series. So, the i5 and i7 are not that much different. Good luck and keep us posted! |

I definitely loved the plushness of the i7, but it was lacking the sportiness factor of the i5. The 5 is in the middle for people who can’t decide between sporty and luxury, right where it should be.

In past eras, Alpina could help a buyer out with that problem. I seem to recall reading about a custom 7 made sporty for the tune of a quarter million $ at that time.

Until these deals cropped up, the price differential likely made that an odd comparison to make, so my guess is that most people did not seriously look into it. I like the idea of the i7 but the size of the car puts me off a bit. My i5 is plenty large enough, although the wagon would have been perfect for me.
