My M60...seat and steering wheel move when entering and exiting the vehicle. It did it on pickup day. Maybe our sales guy activated it, or it came from my iX, when I signed in to Connected Drive with the My BMW app.

I was really surprised how much transferred from my iX BMW Profile to the i5 profile....even the front camera self activating when approaching our driveway, all Sirius XM presets and even in car settings!

So here is the feature I'm talking about. Searched full manual (in addition to the one in iDrive) and nothing on this. I turned if off and comfort exit still worked (and that's a separate setting) so no idea what this does. I tried it on and off and can not detect any difference at all.

It’s a BMW feature to use lots of words that sound like they mean something but actually are completely impossible to decode. Sorry this isn’t working out yet Mike.

Maybe my steering wheel is already at the highest setting. I’m short. My seat definitely moves down and away.

I believe that is the seat extender option, which is then controlled by the iDrive seat settings. Again, I am short so would never use this. Maybe you have to switch it on to use the iDrive function. If I accidentally hit that, my legs would not reach the accelerator or brake pedals. So, maybe it’s a safety feature that you must toggle on in order to use the adjustment.

Hmm... Let me experiment with that and see if that's it when I'm back in the car.

I never knew this "feature" was there either. I activated it yesterday, and cannot see anything it does differently, whether toggled on or off

So, I called Genius yesterday. They have no idea what it does. Neither does my sales manager or service department.

Does ANYONE know?

Also, I am wondering if something is wrong with my seats. Pushing the button that should tilt up and down on the front and back of the horizontal control on the seat only moves in one direction. To get it to move both ways, I need to use iDrive. Very strange. Anyone else seeing this?

I also still want to know why my build sheet and MyGarage say the car has multicontour seats—and the iDrive image seems to show an articulation there—but it is pretty clear the car actually does not for those who know what multi-contour seats are.

I just have the “multi-function” seats on my build sheet but this has got me curious too - not sure if that’s the same thing or not.

I’ll take a look when I’m back home later this week.

I tried toggling this off and on when I was driving last night and could detect zero difference.

Seat too firm

I've had my i5 M60 for a week and I just can't get comfortable in the seat! I have a very stiff back and something about the seat is just not working for me, to the point where I'm finding it really taking away from my enjoyment of the car.

Anyone else have this or found a way to fix it?

I actually found my i4 sensatec seats rather comfortable, no complaints. My wife's X5 sensafin multi-contour seats (the true multi-contour seats) are so comfortable. But these G60 multi comfort seats just don't seem right to me.

I have the luxury seat package option in my i5 eDrive40, with the black Veganza, so I think they are the same seats that you have (maybe you have a Marino leather version). I find them quite comfortable, but my wife does not find her passenger seat very comfortable for long drives. She tells me it's fine for our normal 10-30 minute trips, but she doesn't think it would work well for her during a long road trip. Although, she couldn't tell me something specific, just that it doesn't feel comfortable to her.

For me, I find it quite comfortable. The only think I don't like is one aspect of the lumbar support - I don't think it goes low enough. I want it very low on my back, like almost at the bottom seat level, but it feels like it doesn't get low enough, so I don't have it protrude much. Other than that, I like them.

That was always a standard answer from the so called genius on my G30. They are a joke.

Same here. I prefer i4 seats.
Funny thing: i got i5 for a weekend with sport seats and find them much more comfortable.

I was in a Z4 with sports seats yesterday and they were amazingly comfortable. I wish I ordered them.

I was going to order mine with the MSport Seats in Black Alcantara. The demo 530xi at the dealer had them and I found them quite comfortable. My wife, who has back problems did not find them comfortable at all. So I ordered the Luxury Seating package just for her. Will remain to be seen if she notices a difference one way or the other. I hate that I lost the M Sport look though. Too bad they don't offer the luxury seating in that.
