2025 540x ACC stop and go

So the new 2025 configurator looks to have moved the ACC stop and go from the premium package to the executive package. I don’t see it anywhere else. Problem is I don’t want the executive package as it includes the panoramic roof that doesn’t open (I open my sunroof all the time in my 330). I also noticed the that DAPP in 2024 was $2000 but now in 2025 it’s $2500. You guys think/know if they also added ACC stop and go in the DAPP for 2025? The descriptions are exactly the same across both model years yet there is a $500 difference. My hope is it’s also included in DAPP as well hence the price increase but I want to confirm. Thanks in advance for any info!

I did not notice that change about the ACC stop and go only on Executive package. I do not want a full non-opening glass roof on my car. BMW option selection sucks!

They really need to add this to the connected drive store. The hardware is already there.

I noticed before in the 2025 pricing guide, that if you added ZDY (DAPP) it deleted 5AT (ACC Stop & Go) and also Deleted 5AS (Active Driving Assistant) . There was also a little blurb at the bottom of the ZPP Premium package that stated for the 540i only that the price of the premium package was $2050 if you bought ZDY (DAPP) I assume that DAPP replaces both of those packages as the functions are included in DAPP.

Is it just me, or does ordering a BMW these days feel like trying to understand the tax code? Sheesh.

It kinda is like the tax code. Lol. I actually had to go back to my Broker after I made the last change to add DAPP. I was gong over the charges and noticed he had added ZDY (DAPP) for $2500 and still had ZPP (Premium Package) at $2550. I saw the little blurb at the bottom of the Premium Package section saying that for the 540Xi it is only $2050 when in combination with ZDY. So I called him on it and he verified he had made a rookie mistake and could I come back and re-sign the order with adjusted pricing. I know it's only $500 difference, but it's still my $500. Beware the informed consumer!

My dealer "miscalculated" the sales tax. To the tune of about $480. I'd like to think they used the wrong County (It's 6.5% here). But he was likely surprised I calculated it myself.

You know, you'd think they realize that someone buying a $75K+ car and is not a "Celebrity" or "Legacy"(Meaning they earned their money, they weren't given it.) would know to double check the numbers and make sure they were not getting shafted.

The mentality of a Car Salesman/Finance Manager is that they all think we are basically stupid people with money, and are ignorant of all this "Numbers stuff" and just sign on the dotted line. They train them in creative math. However, that said, if your dealer is not in the same county you live in, they probably have the computer set to calculate tax for their county. Then they will say if there is any error you will automatically be refunded the difference. (Has happened in my youth. And I did get a check in the mail about 6 months later.)

I've seen them (Car dealers) before try to change numbers on me between striking the deal and the finance office. All of a sudden the "Out the door, Deal" goes back to MSRP, Discounts get forgotten, extras you agreed to get left out "By Mistake", and they add a bunch of fees on top of it. Then when I make them go back to the original deal, they hate when I whip out my phone and start checking their numbers. And my answer to "The computer calculates that automatically" is "Software can be in error, or manipulated to say whatever you want it to."

FM's make their commission on the stuff the car salesman didn't talk you into. Like Extended warranty (Worth it, but you'd be amazed on the leeway they have on pricing. That $5k warranty/service plan can be had for a lot less.) Aftermarket window tinting, ceramic coating, clear bra, etc. Anything you can buy at the dealer like that, can be had for a better price elsewhere. Most people would just rather the dealer do it before they take possession of the car, so they don't have to take the time to get it done themselves.

I am a major disappointment for FM’s. I *never* buy anything other than the vehicle. It’ll be a cold day in hell before I buy anything that’s rolled into the purchase price of the vehicle. I’ll consider an extended warranty at some point but not without competitive biding. I’ve already got a place lined up for ceramic, PPF and then tint. I’d likely laugh if they tried to sell me dent/ding, rim protection, or any number of other options. I made them include a line item in my buyers order that said “No dealer installed accessories, without written signed addendum”.

Yeah, they hate it when I walk in too. Here, I did say I wanted the BMW Extended warranty for EU. But only the minimum one that covers 4 years from delivery. I will probably be back in the States before then, but the standard EU warranty is only 3 years, and I don't want to chance it if I stay. Once I get back to the States I can get the US Extended warranty/service package from my local dealer. That way he feels he has some "Skin in the game" since I didn't get the car from him. I'll even tell them I will let them put their license plate frame on the car so people think I bought it from them. Last time they tried to charge me for it, until I said never mind. No free advertising for you then. Then they changed their tune.

There are some forum members on the site that work for BMW dealerships and specialize in giving members the best possible deal. I think I’ll at least cross-shop a quote to see how competitive it is and get a baseline. I really have no idea what it should be, price wise.

The whole concept of an extended warranty is something I’ve got mixed feelings about. They offered me one when I purchased the Audi at some ridiculous 6k price. I declined. Turns out it was a good decision, as in 6 years of ownership I’ve had not one unscheduled repair, just routine maintenance.

I’m not sure I have that same confidence with BMW. It’s not because of quality metrics; vehicles have just become so much more complex even since 2018.

Wait, where is this blurb? I just placed my order in with my broker today and I’m still charged the 2500 for DAPP and $2550 for premium package.

If you look at the stickys, look for the one titled "Pricing Guide: MY2025 G60 5-Series ICE (Attached)" It is the BMW of North America, LLC 2025 pricing guide for 5 Series (G60 ICE) Published On May 23rd, 2024, and effective May 14th, 2024. Open it. On page 2 (Says 4 of 8 at the bottom.) At the Bottom it shows what codes are included in the Premium Package (ZPP) and the pricing off to the right. Says $2050 for the 530i and 530i X Drive. And $2550 for the 540i X Drive. You will see every code x'ed as in it's included. At the very bottom it says $2050 under the 540i X Drive column. If you look to the left the blurb for that row says "In Combination with ZDY." So if you ordered ZDY (DAPP) the price of ZPP (Premium Package) is $2050. I suggest copying this and sending it to your broker with the line highlighted. I printed it out too. Unless they changed their pricing and published another document superseding this one, they have to abide by it.

Now, keep in mind this only applies if you ordered a 2025 540Xi. I can't speak for the I5 or 530e/550e models as I don't know the pricing for them.

It's odd that this does not show up on the 2025 Configurator either, which is probably what he is going by.

Here. I attached it below so you don't have to go search for it.

No Problem. Happy to help. I know that it's only $500. And in the grand scheme of things that's not a lot when you are ordering a $75K+ car. But it's still YOUR $500.
