When does 2025 i5 ordering open and production open?

I forget when BMW model year switchover is. When is that? Does anyone know when 2025 specs/ordering will open?

It already happened. You can order a 2025 Now. Production has already started I believe and some have already received their 2025. For the I5 the configurator has both 2024 and 2025 models for configuring. You can order one now. MY switchover for European vehicles is in July.

My European 5’er was made in the first weeks of July and is in delivery right now. I have a VIN number. Is it somehow possible to check whether or not it is a MY25?

If you put the VIN number in the My BMW App it will give you all that information.

The USA configurator only shows one 2025 model, the i5 xDrive40. The other two i5 models only show as 2024. This is basically why I started this thread.

The configurator often lags behind.

I have been wondering the same thing.

From what I can tell, I’m not sure there is going to be a 2025 i5 e40 or M60. Yes, the new i5 x40 is MY25, but according to rumors production of a new model year with longer range will start in March 2025. If that’s true, maybe they skip MY25 for the e40 and M60 and just make all new models produced in March 2025 and later MY26? Just a hunch and I may be wrong.

It doesn't. the only information I see is the model (520) and VIN number. No model year, no production date.

Try going to this page and putting in your VIN. When I do it, it shows my model year at the top of the results.

Great, funny it’s up the day after I asked about it.

The i5 M60 configurator looks like it needs work still. It wanted to make me drop Premium Package when I added DAPP. And further playing I got stuck in a loop where dropping either Premium or Executive package want to auto add the other one.

I see that you can now order full merino leather in addition to extended. I can’t tell from the pics where the leather is located, doors? Dash ?

Another interesting thing is the base price of the M60 didn’t change from 24 to 25, except the price of the premium package went up $300. On my build that includes a lot of options, that’s the only pricing difference I’m seeing. Also the destination fee went up from $995 to $1,175 and I think that applies across all BMWs now.

Thanks for posting that. Now I can tell my dealership how to do their job, since they seem clueless.

I’m not positive, but I don’t remember seeing the Dynamic Handling package on the ‘24 configurator even though it was mentioned in a lot of those YouTube press junket videos starting last year. But it is on the ‘25 configurator.

No, that wasn’t available as an option last year.
