What are subscription services tied to?

The picture below shows the current options I have in the iDrive store for the parking subscription service.

I'm curious though - are these subscriptions tied to the car or are they tied to my BMW ID/account? In other words, I want to know whether all these subscription features will remain valid on the car if I were to sell it and someone else used their ID to drive the car. Or, are the subscription services only valid for my ID when I drive the car?

Pretty sure it’s associated with the VIN/car - I’ve not heard of restrictions based upon user ID.

So if I purchased the one-time subscription option for all the services available, those services would be with that car forever right? A new owner would also benefit from those features.

Not sure. I think I read somewhere that subscription services would be deleted as soon as the new owner registers it under his/her name and enters it into MyBMW

Wow, so in that case, the subscription services would be tied to the car and the user's ID.

What would happen if I drove my buddy's car who has the same year, make, model as mine and I signed in to his iDrive? Would I get all the same services available to me on his car?

Seems unlikely unless they had all the same hardware options that would go along with the subscription services. To me it seems likely that you’d be able to share the subscription services with others who have an ID that works in your car, but not other cars….but who knows?
