Cool 2025 configurator?

Does anyone have an idea when the 2025 configurator will be available? I had heard Jul 1st, but that didn't happen. If you go on the website it shows some models as 2025, and others (5 Series ICE) still at 2024. I know I ordered a 2025, and I am more than happy with my choices. But am not sure if they might post a few other colors, wheels, or other options that were not included in the Pricing Guide that was posted in May. Not sure if it's FOMO, but don't manufacturers usually come out with something that differentiates one model year from the next? Maybe the 4 zone A/C that is not available in the US. I still have time to make changes until my car enters production it would be nice to know if I might be able to add something cool, not available in 2024 MY.

It's really hard to say. Honestly, I was expecting the configuration tool to be up quickly after they announced the LCI for the 4 Series Gran Coupe in March. I'm not sure of the specific date but it *just* updated in the last week or so, with production slated to start this month.

They might not change it for awhile, as keeping the 2024 configuration tool up, does help dealerships sell existing inventory. So, on lot inventory might have to deplete before they do it? Just speculation.

I think you might be right. Every time I go on the configurator an pull up my last build, it shows similar vehicles available at my dealer. (I use my daughter's zip code since the 540 is not available in the EU). I think they use that to get people to buy a similar, if not exact, vehicle to the one they configured. I guess some people will settle for "Close enough" since they can get it NOW instead of special ordering and waiting months to get their car. Especially if they are leasing for 2-3 years instead of purchasing and financing for 5 years or more. And leaving the configurator in 2024 shows whats available. the M440i is already at 2025 though.

Yes, the Gran coupe flipped within the last two weeks to the 2025 model. I agree that some people are less likely to be picky when it comes to options or colors. I wish I could be that flexible, but I tend to do a lot of research, narrow down my choices to the point where I want "this" specific configuration. I spent a lot of time looking for Carbon Black 5'ers across the USA, but I really never encountered one with every available package. They were always missing something critical to me that was a non-starter, like DAPP.

Yup. I am the same way. I do a lot of research and see what I want. Looking at safety and reliability stuff, reviews etc. I normally narrow down to 2 or 3 different, but technically and technologically similar vehicles. In this case 4. I was between the 540i X Drive, M340i X Drive , the Audi A-6 55, and Audi S-4. All of them 6 cylinder. Narrowed down to the 540i X-Drive and the A-6 55, and test drove both. That's where I was sold on the 540. Then it came down to options. Eventually the only thing I didn't want was the Skylounge roof, and I could care less about the glass controls. It took me several weeks of research and a trip to CA to test drive while visiting the Granddaughter. So There you have it. Of course my wife thinks it is a knee jerk reaction and I am shooting from the hip. Because I didn't say anything until the test drive part other than "I'm thinking of getting a new car." 6 months later I test drive cars and we go home and I start building. Lol. She is like "Why did you not talk to me about it the whole time?" And My response was " You don't care about cars like that. You look and say Oh Pretty. Or I don't like that one." When I decide on a car it is never a knee jerk reaction. I plan on what I want to drive for the next 10 years, and make sure that is the one I want.

When I got my i5, I just looked at everything coming in. I would have been happy with most of them. My husband was the picky one. So, we had to order. Color was my least important thing.

Now see, Color is important to me. I will never own a Black car again. THe last one I had you could see every little micro-scratch. I had to have colored wax or every time it was washed they would show up. Looked Great when it was polished up, but would look dirty again in a couple of days. Same with dark grey. I prefer light grey or silver. now.

Ohhh! So it was your husband that wanted the Tanzanite Blue? It does seem to be rarer. The majority of the G60's I've scouted online always seem to be black or white. I'm assuming those are BMW's two most popular colors.

Yes, he wanted to pick the color and was torn between Vegas red and Tanzanite blue. That said, he never drives the car at all. I like all the BMW colors, but I didn’t like the extra $1,300 for Tanzanite.

That is because those are the 2 colors most car dealerships only order for stock. I would never buy those colors.
