Tire message on app

Got a service issue on my app. It’s related to tire wear. Says it’s 4/32-5/32 rear tires. So I checked. Amazing it’s exactly that. All four tires. Another amazing even wear across all four same measure with my manual thread tool.

so I have Pireli tire AS currently at 18k miles

Was thinking to get Michelins sports 4S any one have used these on thier cars?

if I stay with Pireli maybe ultra sport. Think wear be worse ?

Last wonder if I can clear issue message on app.

When I ask myself these questions I visit Tire Rack, put in my car details, and get their list of recommended and compatible tires. Good info for side-by-side comparison and owner comments.

I would guess that it measures the number of rotations during a given distance traveled. The smaller the diameter of the tire the more rotations it takes to travel the same distance as a new tire.

My car came with non-EV tires. As long as they are XL the tires are fine. EV specific tires have things like foam for less road noise. I would rather have an XL performance tire.

I been wanting to ride on Michelins sport 4S. Heard they are very good on the road. Handling and noise. I do drive on I15/I40 closest to autobahn lol

Found this mentioned on a BMW middle east website:

BMW digital tyre diagnosis delvers an intelligent calculation of the tyre condition (requires Original BMW tyres with star marking). The sensors in the system forward the data on tyre pressure, temperature and tyre speed in order to predict the life span for each individual wheel. This information is then shown in the Control Display and in the BMW App. This supplements the tyre pressure control system by detecting any indications of tyre damage and slow pressure loss, thus minimising the risk of punctures.

That's fascinating. I wasn't sure what "star marking" meant, so I had to look it up.

BMW approved tyres have a “STAR” symbol, indicating they have undergone BMW's extensive testing and received approval. Tyres approved by vehicle manufacturers, also known as homologated or OE (original equipment) tyres, are a collaborative effort between the tyre and vehicle manufacturers.

Are there 'reset' or configuration options in the app to tell it you changed them?

Not in the app but in iDrive.
