The decision about getting (or omitting) the M Sport Professional package is something I'm obsessing over. I keep watching YouTube videos of vehicles with or without it.

I feel like the matte silver grill is more "iconic BMW", but at times I find the blacked-out grill more aggressive looking and sporty. Other times, I feel like there's entirely too much shiny black up front between the grill and the bumper and visually the front of the car is 'lost in translation.

It makes it more difficult since the package is purely cosmetic and brings nothing to the table regarding performance, like the M Sport vs. Classic decision.

How did you folks make up your mind? lol.

Everyone who comments about my car love the lighted kidney grill. They say it makes the car look mean. Its a personal decision of coarse but I always say to my self when I buy a car, get everything so you do not regret not getting it. I am not sure but I think you can turn it off if you don't want the lighted grill. Maybe someone can comment if this is true.

I did notice that you can select the lighted kidney grill as an option for the silver matte finish. You just have to pay $500 for it. I love the illuminated grill. I've read that some people don't care for it, though. I like that description, though Trevor. "Mean" is very appropriate.

Interestingly, I'm definitely getting the same color that you have! I want the same rims, however, now on the BMW Configurator, it's saying you only have the option to order them as "staggered". And I'm definitely not getting into that hassle.

I think the silver looks better with the white color and the black plastic blends better with dark colors. The silver is more classic sedan. It just depends on what look you want. I initially had a deposit on a mineral white with the silver grille, then changed my mind and did a custom build.

You will appreciate the staggered set up when you do a launch. A lot more rubber on the road in the back. The wider tires in the back also add to the mean factor. I understand the thought of rotating tires front to back. As for me I am fine buying a new set of fronts or rears when needed. 10000 miles on my car already and no really noticeable wear on the tires yet.

I agree with the above for sure. Before I decided on my color choice, I had Mineral White picked and liked the black look on the grill and around the side windows. Later, I changed my mind and wanted Phytonic Blue and thought the silver looked better on the grill and around the side windows.

Finally, I decided on Vegas Red and went with a black on red theme because I liked the look of those two colors together and also thought the spoiler on the back looked really nice. The red/black theme is also the reason I went with the dark tint, and have ordered a personalized license plate with a black background.

It really just depends on the look you are going for.

And that is what makes our world so interesting. We all have our own unique likes and dislikes. So to the opening poster, it really is about what look YOU like the most, or about what matches with your overall theme/color the best.

Enjoy picking. At least you have two pictures here of how each grill choice looks on a red car. I'm sure if you google pictures of i5s on the internet you could probably find more pictures of the grills on other colors too (or just configure them in the BMW order tool online).

In my opinion the M Pro looks the best for regular ICE cars because the grill has vertical silver straps.
The M60 is black inside and the silver border outside makes it look good!
Go for what you really like, all options will be good!

I am looking at the MSport with the M Sport Pro package. So far I started with the White metallic, but so far I have decided I like the Oxide Grey the best with red calipers and the 20" M Star-Spoke Bicolor Black 938M Wheels with Staggered All Season Tires. Looking forward to place my order as soon as the 25's can be.
