i5M60 Active Cruise control
My i5M60 was sitting on the driveway waiting for me on my return from holidays so very new to it but having had the i4M50 I assume most aspects of the active cruise control would be the same but it doesn’t appear to be the case.
With the i4M50 when in cruise control it read the upcoming speed signs and allowed you to preset these as you approached so it slowed or increased the speed accordingly but this doesn’t appear to be available on the i5 or is it hidden in a menu I just haven’t found yet? |

Should be supported. If you look at page 214 of the manual I believe it does show it being supported. Don’t have my car yet but the autonomous systems (assuming you have the correct packages) should be more advanced than the i4.

Ok as I said earlier the system does indeed allow you to set the incoming speed either manually or let the car do it automatically.
There’s a lot new to learn with this car compared to the i4M50, something good and others which are a backward step. Like I said I arrived home from my hols to the car sitting in my drive, I basically ordered the car without even driving it so the other day was the first impressions of the car and it’s a quite a difference to the i4. Firstly is the size, having come from an M5 Competition so expected the same but this feels a bit bigger and harder to place on the road but this only lasted a couple of days. Comfort or maybe isolation is a better word because you are WAY more isolated from the road in the i5 which was one thing I wanted so very happy. Count yourself luck if you live in the US because over here in the UK and Europe we have this new law that speed warning is always on whenever you start the car and it’s a total pain, plus it’s not a simple two button press to turn off, I don’t know why they can’t make the turning off as simple as switching off DSC, make a button for this purpose even if you have to press it for 5 seconds to deactivate. |

Tried pressing the SET button on the steering wheel and indeed if you keep it pressed for a few seconds on the HUD it confirmed the Speed Warning is deactivated.
I must say the more I drive it the more I am enjoying this car. A seriously polished driving experience. |
