I have a 540ix and noticed I had an iconic sounds feature and turned it on. I didn’t notice a difference when driving or breaking. I was in expressive mode.

Are the ICE cars supposed to make the “sounds” as well?

In my dads I7 it’s very obvious when they are turned on and would assume mine would be the same.

Short answer is YES. ICE cars will make "sounds" too.

Long answer is...it's not gonna be the same sound the EVs are making.

In your car you will hear the sound of your car's engine, being amplified and pumped through the speakers, into the cabin. That's what the "iconic sounds" flavor is in ICE 540.

Not that long ago BMW used to call it Active Sound now it's "iconic...". Some like it, some don't. I find it too loud and too synthetic. It was first introduced into the 5 series in the F10 platform.
