G80 platform would most likely get another update (M vehicles dont get an official LCI) in line with for 4 series LCI.

^^ Do we have a confirmation that the G8X will actually get the 48V mild hybrid system at all? If so, I think this will be applicable only for vehicles with the ZF automatic transmission.

Is it already certain that the G87 will get an LCI in April 2025?

IMHO let's keep it probability-wise to "(very) likely" instead of "certain".

LCI changes of a 'base' model usually also immediately trickle down to the BMW M model variant. Hence, as a BMW M model normally arrives later in a 'base' model production cycle, it usually rather quickly triggers an LCI in its own life cycle. Early adopters should be aware of this.

The G42 2er Coupé is expected to get its LCI in April 2025. So normally also the G87 M2 will follow suit around that time. Cause and effect.

ynguldyn reported that the G87 M2 is expected to get some 'cosmetic changes' already in August 2024 when power output is expected to be increased from 460ps to 475ps. But that will be no LCI yet.

  • Production only at SLP Mexico
G87 M2
  • In production until 07/29
  • 08/24: engine power increases to 475hp; cosmetic changes including new wheel options. This is not the "CS" or "Competition". Skyscraper Gray, Mineral Red, Portimao Blue, and Sao Paulo Yellow could be the new colors.

does the LCI#2 will take major changes than a simple headlight graphic revision for the G80?

I can’t find G80 M3 LCI #1 end of production. Is it supposed to end along with G82 M4 at Feb. 22? You only mention M4’s EOP.

As the G82 M4 CSL production is expected to be very short, starting in July 2022, my guesstimate is that it will only be made in the second semester of 2022.

As per forum member ynguldyn, the G87 M2 is expected to be produced till July 2029:
  • in August 2024 the G87 M2 is expected to get a 15ps power bump (475ps replacing the current 460ps), some cosmetic changes (including new wheel options) and new colors (likely Skyscraper Gray, Mineral Red, Portimão Blue, and Sao Paulo Yellow);
  • in April 2025 the G42 2er and G87 M2 are expected to get a 'facelift' ('Life Cycle Impulse'); production till July 2029;
  • variant: from August 2025 till July 2026 the G87 M2 CS is expected to be produced; expected to feature CS/CSL wheels, CF roof, bucket seats and alcantara steering wheel as standard features; automatic transmission only (no manual transmission option).

About dimensions of BMW M cars: see the dedicated thread: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1811900

The length of the G87 M2 is the same as the one of the E90 M3: 4m58. No longer a "small" car.

Finally, do we expect the G8X to carry manual transmission throughout its life?

Thank you for sharing this! Was currently on the fence of placing an order for a G87 M2 but I’m in no rush so will likely wait it out until the predicted LCI facelift in Spring 2025.
